Bulgaria’s Nov revenue from tourist overnights soars

Bulgaria’s revenue from tourist overnights jumped to 61.2 million levs ($33.63 million/31.29 million euro) in November from 25.8 million levs in the same month of 2021, official figures from the statistical office showed on Thursday.

The revenue from domestic visitors amounted to 39.2 million levs, while foreign visitors contributed a revenue of 22 million levs in November 2022, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.

The total number of tourist overnights soared by 98.3% on the year, reaching 854,953 in November. The overnights spent by Bulgarian residents were 607,101. The remaining 247,852 were spent by foreign citizens.

In November, the total number of tourists who stayed in accommodation facilities in Bulgaria surged by an annual 97.4% to 402,551. Of them, 101,092 were foreign visitors, the NSI said.
