Astana Host a Meeting of The Foreign Ministers of Central Asian Countries and The US in The C5 + 1 Format

Avesta.Tj – The ministerial meeting of the heads of foreign affairs agencies of the countries of Central Asia and the United States in the C5 + 1 format will be held on February 28 this year in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.

According to Vlast.kz, on February 28, Secretary of State of the United States of America Anthony Blinken will pay an official visit to Kazakhstan.

During his stay in Astana, the Secretary of State will be received by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and will hold talks with Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi.

On the same day, Astana will host a ministerial meeting of the heads of foreign affairs agencies of the Central Asian countries and the United States in the C5 + 1 format with the participation of Blinken.

The agenda includes issues of further development of regional cooperation and partnership with the United States, the report says.

The C5 + 1 format is a multilateral mechanism for interaction between the five countries of Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan) and the United States.

It was created in 2015 to discuss regional issues in the fields of economy, ecology and security.
